Painting
Community-scale painting — walls made with neighbourhoods, schools, libraries, and volunteer crews across Wellington County and beyond. From a 36-foot mural painted with 150 volunteers for the Peoples’ Information Network to schoolyard walls with grade-six crews, these are paintings a community authors together.

Meredith Blackmore is a painter, performer, and community artist. She holds a Fine Arts degree from the University of Guelph and has sustained a dedicated artistic practice for more than twenty years, alongside a parallel life as a language and arts educator.
From 2014 to 2021 she created and facilitated Studiohere, an open studio art school for all ages, built on a simple conviction: everyone can learn to draw — the magic is in honouring the desire to.
Her work moves fluidly between disciplines. She has won multiple live-painting awards, including the Toronto Art Battle (2013), painted live at an Aretha Franklin concert and a Toronto International Film Festival event, and her portrait of dancer Rex Harrington won an episode of BravoTV’s Star Portraits. As a dancer and performance artist she was a Guelph Dance Artist-in-Residence (2021–22), with recent performances at KazooFest, the Elora Centre for the Arts, and Hamilton Supercrawl — where she danced a beguiling duet with a cardboard box.
Loving how art builds community, she has led large-scale public projects including a 36-foot mural painted with 150 volunteers for the Peoples’ Information Network.
